Abstract:
To adequately prepare MPA students for moving beyond problem identification to solutions, graduate faculty must embrace innovative pedagogy that bridges classroom knowledge and workplace contexts. Experiential learning is any learning that supports students in applying their knowledge and conceptual understanding to real-world problems or situations where the instructor directs and/or facilitates learning. However, little attention has been given to the applicability in public administration programs of study. The purpose of this paper presentation is to explore the applicability of the client based model for public and nonprofit sector agencies and to present a conceptual framework across public administration curricula.
