The Semantic Web in Education

This article will be submitted to a peer reviewed journal. It is nearly complete, but a member of the team is holding the rest of us up.

Abstract:

In this paper, we review the research on Semantic Web in education in an effort to assess the literature. Starting with an exploration of Semantic Web in social context, we narrowed the focus on the empirical studies conducted on Semantic Web in education  in recent five years to identify areas researched and the gaps that remain.  Recommendations for future research are made, including methodological and theoretical considerations important to advance the knowledge and understanding of the use of Semantic Web in education.
