Virginia Lynn Waters is my full name, however I prefer to be called Lynn. I am now retired from a Chief Nursing Officer position and do so with over 46 years’ experience in healthcare, and more than 30 years in healthcare administration. I worked for multiple healthcare organizations, profit and not-for-profit, union and non-union, where I became fully engaged. immersed, and enriched in understanding the role of the nurse, nurse administrator, and nurse educator. Lynn has first-hand knowledge of clinical and organizational operations, organizational and change management strategies, and HCA services and expectations. I hold a PhD in Business Administration with a focus on Organizational Leadership from Northcentral University, a Master of Science Degree in Nursing and a Master’s in Business Administration from Northern Kentucky University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa, and a Diploma in Nursing from the Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. I am an Advanced Board-Certified Nursing Executive (NEA-BC), and served on the Board of Directors of the Nursing Consortium of South Florida. I am also a member of Sigma Theta Tau, American Organization of Nurse Executives and the American Association of Nurses. I presently am employed as Adjunct Faculty for both the University of Phoenix and for Nova Southeastern University.
