Vanessa Smith-Washington, EdD

I earned my EdD in September 2017 in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in School Leadership. I currently work as an adjunct assistant professor at St. John's University (Queens Campus), CUNY Hunter and CUNY York College. I teach a course in special education; Exceptional Learners to new teachers. I have set two goals to accomplish during 2017-2018. My goals include continuing my research in education to investigate the challenges new special education teachers face understanding the impact regular mentoring programs have on the retention of beginning teachers . Additionally, to learn how to write and publish an article to share my research findings.
