Program Dean of Core Business Programs for the School of Business, Teresa Hutchinson oversees curriculum strategies and new course development for undergraduate and graduate business programs. Driven and resourceful, she develops plans to enhance the student learning experience and increase business acumen for the workplace, integrating cutting-edge tools.
Teresa’s 25-year career in higher education includes roles as Campus President for Keiser University, Campus President for Kaplan University and Director of MBA Programs at St. Ambrose University in Iowa. Teresa rejoined University of Phoenix in 2015, and is a key member of the School of Business academic team. Her original role with the University was in 2004 as Corporate Education Manager. A long-time University of Phoenix faculty member, she continues to teach business curriculum.
Teresa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Food and Nutrition at the University of Iowa, and earned her MBA at St. Ambrose University. She completed her doctoral studies in Educational Leadership with a Specialization in Educational Technology at University of Phoenix, Her dissertation focuses on the assessment of complex computer simulations in MBA courses and the role that instructional technology plays in providing effective learning experiences. A believer in continuous improvement, Teresa’s scholarship includes work for KJWW Engineering in employee development and a variety of presentations in the areas of sales, marketing and instructional technology.
