Steven Boylan, DM
Completed my DM in organizational leadership from University of Phoenix. Graduated from Mercer University in 1984, with a commission as an Aviation officer with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. Duel minor, Journalism and Broadcast & Film. Received a Master of Arts degree in Management from Webster University. Doctrinal study within the field of organizational leadership on the U. S. Army’s organizational leadership development. Serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Command & Leadership, Command and General Staff College focusing on leadership instruction as well as developing curriculum for 1400 students on media and public affairs. Co-author for core curriculum “Inform and Influence Activities” and author for Advanced Leadership, “Risk and Adaptability.” Responsible for the national media panels conducted every August for the students to gain a better understanding of media issues regarding the military. Published numerous articles include Military Review and the Small Wars Journal, focusing on military-media relations; Foreign Policy, “Another view from Leavenworth: We’re doing better than Professor Murray thinks;” Military Times “Accountable Abusers,” and book reviews of “All In: The Education of General David Petraeus,” and “Leading the narrative: A case for strategic communication,” and recently in Small Wars Journal, an article on adaptability and risk. An article accepted for publication titled, "Organizational Adaptable in Complex Environments" in the Journal of Leadership Education.
