Richard Schuttler, PhD

Dr. Rich Schuttler is an organizational troubleshooter. He is a customer-driven & quality-focused innovative and engaging international public speaker, business consultant, educator, and author. He has 25-years of diversified, domestic and international management and leadership improvement expertise within academic, federal/state governments, and Fortune 1,000 environments developing strategies and implementation methods. Rich has mentored executives, faculty, and students from around the world in a variety of professional leadership and management settings. Dr. Rich’s Executive Mentoring Model is founded on the philosophy of individualized and intentional relationships, in which his clients (organizations or individuals) are empowered to achieve their full potential though a variety of self-regulating techniques and regular interaction with him. By focusing on a short list of prioritized dimensions, leaders are able to identify approaches to develop a healthier self-balance, improving their ability to manage their organizations through change processes, and to manage their personal reactions to leadership issues. As a transformational pioneer, Dr. Schuttler served as a Dean at the University of Phoenix from 2000-2004 (Business Week’s 2004 #3 Hot Growing Companies) where he directed a diversified staff and implemented processes contributing to 80% growth at the nation’s largest accredited, private university with 10-fold growth in doctoral programs. Rich served honorably in the U.S. Navy for 23. Some of Dr. Schuttler’s small, mid-size, and larger corporate clients include Delta Airlines, Egyptian Banking Institute in Cairo, the Ministry of Health in Oman, the NCAA, Sloan Consortium at MIT, Aarons, Good Samaritan Hospital, University of Phoenix, and others around the world. In 2011, Dr. Schuttler was named Faculty of the Year at the University of Phoenix. He is a Best-Selling author of Laws of Communication: The Intersection Where Leadership Meets Employee Performance and his newest book Everyday Leader Heroes: 10 Leadership Characteristics of Everyday People. Dr. Schuttler resides in Honolulu, Hawaii.
