Randall Thompson, EdD, MBA
Dr. Randall Thompson has been involved in chairing dissertations at the School of Advanced Studies since 2009. His bachelor’s degree in education along with a master’s degree were earned at Pittsburg State University. A second master’s degree and doctorate degree in education were obtained from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign followed by a MBA from DeVry’s Keller Graduate School of Management. Dr. Thompson has had extensive experience in higher education including teaching and administration, consulting, curriculum development, research, and serving as president of Forest Institute of Professional Psychology and Adler School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Thompson has served as Dean of Nontraditional Studies at City Colleges of Chicago, Assistant Executive Director with the North Central Association of Colleges and Universities, faculty member at Pittsburg State University and University of Illinois. Throughout his professional career he has served and chaired accreditation teams for the Higher Learning Commission at the North Central Association and the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia. He currently splits his time doing educational consulting and serving as an online faculty member with the School of Advanced Studies at University of Phoenix. Recent publications include Acceptance Levels of Traditional and Nontraditional Superintendents by Experienced Educators and High School Students in Trinidad: Views on HIV/AIDS and Sexual Activity. Current research interests include The Digital Divide and the Poor in Nigeria, Undergraduate Business Education in United Arab Emirates, MBA Training and Workplace Ethical Decisions, Leadership Training at First Bank of Nigeria, and Ethical Decision-Making, and Leader Communication in Software Development Teams.
