Patricia Steele, EdD
50+ years in education. Education includes a BM from UGA, MA and EdD from ORU. Since July 2009, I have served as a Dissertation Chair and Committee Member at UoPX. Involved with Research Hub (CEITR) since 2016. Currently I serve as an Affiliate, Research Fellow, and Associate faculty working with teams writing scholarly articles for publication. As co-author, publications include two articles (2017, 2018) and one book chapter (2018). Currently, third article is being prepared for submission to a peer-reviewed journal, and a fourth and fifth are being written. Experience includes: teacher, lower school principal, administrator, curriculum coordinator and writer, research analyst, educational consultant, and flute instructor. Research interests include: curriculum design and instruction, with emphasis on student-centered learning, particularly with emphasis on information technology (IT), VREs, multiple intelligences, academic readiness, whole person education, strategic planning, and VREs. In 2013, participated in a committee to consider the set-up and use of IRBnet in SAS. Preferred research methodology is qualitative, phenomenology, case study, directed content analysis, and qualitative narrative inquiry (thanks to Jim Lane). Technological skills include: database search, word processing, spreadsheet, PPT, online instruction and testing, communications, acquainted with Vision, Banner, Blackboard Ultra, NVivo, deDoose. Personal note: I would have loved integrating virtual educational applications into curricula during my earlier educational teaching experiences.
