Patricia A. D'Urso, Ph.D., Black Belt Six Sigma
Dr. Patricia A. D’Urso is a faculty member with the School of Advanced Studies and owns D’Urso Consultancy – a management/leadership focused organization. Pat was the Director of Academic Affairs (DAA) and a Campus College Chair (CCC) for the School of Business for the University of Phoenix, West Florida Campus from 2002 through 2010. This DAA position is the Chief Academic Officer for the West Fl Campus. She has been teaching with the University of Phoenix since 2000 and before that held senior Human Resource positions, the last one with Bausch & Lomb Pharmaceuticals in Tampa. Pat comments: “I have had the privilege of teaching at several major universities in this country,” Cornell, SUNY, University of South Florida…to name a few. Pat chairs and is a member of doctoral committees. In addition to her responsibilities at the university, Pat consults with prominent, large corporations throughout the year, and occasionally presents business development seminars in the community. Additionally, she serves as a "methodologist" for doctoral students in their dissertation phase at another, prominent, for-profit university. Pat earned a Ph.D., in Adult Education with a cognate in research and measurement (stats) at the University of South Florida. She earned a Master’s of Business Administration with a concentration in management from Penn State, a Master’s of Science in Psychology from UOPX, and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Industrial and Labor Relations with an economics minor from the State University of New York at Cortland. She holds a Supervision Certification from Cornell University, a "Green Belt" in Six Sigma from Villanova University and has completed the course work for the Black Belt certification through the American Society of Quality. Pat is married to Bob D’Urso (they were grade school friends) and they live in Tampa, Florida. They have 5 children between the two of them and three grandchildren. “We love to dance and watch the Tampa Bay Rays baseball games and the Tampa Bay Bucs football games.”
