Patricia Akojie, PhD

My name is Patricia Akojie but, my students usually call me Dr. A. Paducah, Kentucky has been home for Patricia and her family since 1992. Professionally, Patricia has taught various levels of education. Currently, she teaches undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral level courses. She obtained her doctoral degree is in the area of Educational Policy and Evaluation from the University of Kentucky. Her Master's degree is Educational Planning. Patricia Akojie is a Kentucky Secondary certified teacher for grades 7-12, in addition she has a Kentucky Technology Endorsement. Dr. Patricia Akojie teaches at the University Of Phoenix, School Of Advanced Studies. She serves on UOPX doctoral committee, both as a Chair and a committee member. Dr. Akojie has been teaching with the University of Phoenix since 2003. She is a Certified Advanced Facilitator. She has researched, presented, and published in the areas of Action Research, Education, and K-12 Technology. Patricia Akojie is also a reviewer for the Catholic Education Journal; and for the Association for Educational Communication and Technology (AECT) conferences and publications. Dr. Akojie designs graduate level courses. She also converts existing unground courses to online format. Dr. Akojie develops Course Plans and writes Course and Unit Level Objectives. Patricia Akojie designed the Masters of Science in Teacher Leadership program for Brescia University, in Owensboro, Kentucky. The program obtained both SACS and the Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB) accreditations in 2011. Patricia served on the Revised Program Review Committee (RPRC), a sub-committee of the Education Professional Standards Board, in Frankfort, Kentucky in 2008. Dr. Akojie also served on the Kentucky Center for School Safety/Post-Secondary Task Force in Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. Dr. Akojie’s other areas of research interest include community service, Adult learning, and Culture. On a personal note, Patricia enjoys reading, sewing, and photography. She also loves to travel. Patricia has been to the following countries - Mexico, Republic of Togo, Canada, Britain, Italy, Nigeria, London, Vienna, Switzerland, and Amsterdam. She loves trying spicy exotic foods while on vacation trips. She also collects vintage sewing machines. Patricia is married to Dr. Felix Akojie, a Biology professor. They have four grown children, three sons in law, and four grandchildren.
