Michael Taku, DBA, PMP

Dr. Michael Taku has been associated with University of Phoenix for more than a decade. He has taught in the areas of management, marketing and international business due to his strong multidisciplinary academic and professional background. Dr. Taku’s professional experience includes serving in professorial, management and leadership as well as consulting positions. Highlights of his professional experience include serving as the founding director of the Center for Business and Economic Development at Lincoln University in Missouri, Dean of the Division of Business and Administration at Talladega College in Alabama and Dean of Academic Affairs, ITT Tech, Baton Rouge, LA. In addition, Dr. Taku has also been a reviewer on several federal agency programs, evaluator and organizational capacity building consultant for both nonprofit and for-profit organizations. Furthermore, he has been published in the Journal of World Trade, Competitiveness Review, and the Journal of International Business Disciplines. His current research agenda includes organizational capacity building, governance, strategy, organization effectiveness and performance. Committed to fostering the educational missions of institutions of higher education, Dr. Taku is also engaged in the scholarship of teaching and learning, based on cognitive and constructivist theories.
