Mercer Morgan, III, DM, MBA
Mercer Morgan is originally from Cleveland Ohio. He enlisted into the Navy in 1984, and retired after 29 years in 2013. He was advanced to the rank of Chief Petty Officer, and subsequently commissioned under the Limited Duty Officer (LDO) Program. As an LDO he has completed tours at: VS-33 (Ordnance Officer), Naval Test Wing Atlantic (5.0 Test Wing Ordnance Officer), Commander US Naval Forces Central Command, Bahrain (Ammo logistics/strategic plans), Carrier Air Wing Eight (“CAG Gunner”), Naval Munitions Command (Officer in Charge), Naval Airborne Weapons Maintenance Unit One (NAWMU-1) Guam (Executive Officer). After retirement he decided to pursue his passion in culinary arts, and attended the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Culinary College in Las Vegas. After completion of culinary school he realized that he missed supporting his fellow fleet Ordnancemen, and went to work as a contractor at Test Wing Pacific Squadron VX-31 in October of 2014. He is now assigned to the Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division as a Branch Head for the Weapons Integration Division and as a Deputy Assistant Program Manager for Logistics. He has a Master’s in Business Administration, and earned a Doctorate of Management Degree in Organizational Leadership. He is married the former Ashley Benavente from Guam. He has two daughters Martika, Monye’, and Mai’Auni.
