Melissa McCartney, EdD
Dr. Melissa McCartney currently serves as an Instructional Designer, developing innovative and engaging curriculum for faculty and student workshops at the University of Phoenix. Dr. McCartney is a new faculty member in the College of Humanities and Social Science teaching Creativity and Critical Thinking. This is her 10th year teaching in higher education. She has held other positions in higher education including enrollment advisor, assessment specialist, and faculty manager. Dr. McCartney was also an educator in secondary education.
Dr. McCartney earned her undergraduate degree in Creative Writing from the University of Arizona, a Master’s in Education, a post-baccalaureate teaching certificate, and her Ed.D in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Arizona State University. Her dissertation examined the effects of curriculum embedded with humor on memory retention.
