Martine Bates Sharp, Ed.D.

Dr. Sharp has served in local schools as teacher, principal, and central office administrator. While at the central office, she instituted a new diploma option, supervised teachers of speech and the gifted, directed the 504-ADA program, and served as policy committee advisor. As principal, she opened two new schools in her district. Additionally, Dr. Sharp served a term as mayor of her town. Since retiring from the principalship, she has supervised student teachers for a local university and written three books for children, as well as reviewing media and writing feature articles for a statewide denominational publication. She is currently working on three research projects with colleagues. She has been with the University of Phoenix since 2004.
