Marie Smith, J.D.

Marie J. Smith is an attorney and an educator who is licensed to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia. She has over two decades of experience in the areas of public interest and corporate law. Ms. Smith has been a college educator for over 15 years teaching online and face to face on various subjects including law and negotiation. Ms. Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Howard University; a J.D. degree from the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law and a Master of Arts in Instructional Design and Technology in Adult Education from Purdue University Global. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Project Management. Ms. Smith is a co-author of the research paper, Experiences With Racism: Narratives From Black Educators, which she presented at The Qualitative Report (TQR2020).
