Lori Schieffer, Ed.D.

Dr. Lori Schieffer worked in K-12 education for 22 years both teaching and administration. Her experiences include elementary principal, middle school principal, and high school vice-principal. She has taught middle school and kindergarten. Dr. Schieffer has a K-8 teaching certificate, a K-12 administration certificate, and a K-12 superintendent endorsement. Her degrees include a Bachelor's from California State University, Stanislaus in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Childhood Development, a Master's from Utah State University in Elementary Education, a Master's from Idaho State University in Educational Administration, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from University of Montana. Currently, she works as an online adjunct for several universities and is the lead faculty area chair for the Bachelor's of Education program at University of Phoenix. Her professional development goals are to stay abreast of educational practices that are researched based and continue on her journey as a lifelong learner. Her interest areas are K-12 education, professional development, middle school, mindset, brain research, technology, professional learning communities (PLCs), virtual collaboration, educational leadership, and higher education. Dr. Schieffer has published professional articles for The Online Journal of Distance Education and e-Learning, Journal of Instructional Research, and various newsletters. She has presented for several professional organizations and various schools including National Association of Elementary School Principals and the Office of Public Instruction, Montana. Dr. Schieffer has completed several book reviews for ISTE and was a member of the PLN Leadership team for ISTE for two years. She completed an external peer review for the American College of Education. Dr. Schieffer also consults and provides professional development and continuing education units for teachers online and face-to-face through her own business.
