Linda Ellis Brown, EdD

My name is Dr. Linda Ellis-Brown. I am from a small rural farming community in rural Mississippi. I am married and the mother of two young adults. I received my BA degree from Alcorn State University in Lorman, MS, my MA degree from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, and my EdD from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. I am also a graduate of the Higher Education Resources Services - HERS Institute class of 1999, Bryn Mawr, PA. (HERS is a program for Advancing Women Leaders in Higher Education Administration) Career Path: I am a former elementary and middle school teacher, Natchez, MS Public Schools, but I have worked as a university administrator for the past 40 plus years, and a community college and university faculty for over 30 years. I am retired and now teach/facilitate doctorate level courses online. Hobbies: Writing children books and learning to play the piano. I spend much of my time helping students gain access to equal educational opportunities and higher education. Not a lot of fun, but awfully rewarding.
