Lee Nordgren, MBA, MEd, DSc
A versatile Harvard MBA with a Doctor of Science in Strategic Management and an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration, Lee Nordgren has forty years of experience conducting research, leading projects, and enhancing competitiveness for start-ups, universities, and multinationals around the globe. Dr. Nordgren's professional experience includes about a decade in each of financial services; consumer goods marketing and manufacturing; international development consulting; and consulting and leadership in higher education. In all fields, Dr. Nordgren's core competencies have remained research, strategy, and intra/entrepreneurship. As an internal strategic analyst for Procter & Gamble, before The Internet simplified data access, her research, included a comprehensive, international analysis of major food and beverage manufacturers to identify industry trends and recommend strategic change to the top executive team. As VP of sales and marketing and the country’s first legal, noncitizen, state employee, Dr. Nordgren led a Yugoslavian network of 400 employees in 85 locations nationwide through restructuring for international, free-market competitiveness. For the U.S. Agency for International Development, in close cooperation with Croatian NGO and governmental agencies, she researched, formulated, recommended, and initiated a national educational strategy to enhance Croatia’s export competitiveness. On three continents, as an educator in strategy, research, trade, and entrepreneurship, she created and taught 75+ new courses; trained and advised hundreds of deans, executives, entrepreneurs, professors, and students; and directed dozens of competitiveness enhancement studies of start-up, privatizing, nonprofit, NGO, and governmental organizations. As a scholar of East European organizations seeking keys to strategic success during economic transition, Dr. Nordgren earned prestigious speaking engagements in venues including Serbian national television, European Union conferences, and Smithsonian’s Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars. She has lived and worked extensively in Europe, South America, and North America, including Hawaii, and is currently exploring connections for new work in China and Cuba.
