Julie A. Overbey, PhD

Julie Overbey has served the University of Phoenix since 2009. Julie teaches courses in leadership and management in the School of Advanced Studies and serves as a dissertation chair and committee member. Additionally, Julie serves as the Lead Faulty/Area Chair for the SAS School of Management, a role she has filled since 2013. During 2015 Julie took on an additional role as the Campus Faculty Assessment Liaison for the SAS DBA program. Julie serves as a SME for leadership and management course revisions on an as requested basis. Julie holds a PhD in Business Management with a specialization in organizational Leadership. She also holds a Master of Science in Business Administration. Julie has 20 years experiences in the contract management field and currently works as the Director of Contract Administration for Solutionary, Inc., a Managed Security Services Provider. In this role, Julie oversees the contract and purchasing departments. Major responsibilities include negotiation and review of corporate contracts and agreements, trademark and patent management, corporate insurance program management, and overseeing the purchasing department. Julie retired from the US Air Force in 2007 after more than 20 years of active and reserve service. During her last 7 years in the Air Force Julie held the role of IMA to the Command Functional Manager in US Air Forces Europe and Air Material Command. She holds a number of professional memberships, including the National Contract Management Association, Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society – Business, and Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society - Education.
