Jim Goes, Ph.D.
Jim Goes is Managing Partner, Cybernos, LLC. He consults on business and corporate strategy, strategic planning, organizational design and change, health management and policy, public process facilitation, and board development. Since 1985 he has served as consultant to dozens of established and startup businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies, nationally and globally. Jim has been a professor of business and healthcare management at the graduate level for 30 years, serving on the faculties of the University of Oregon, Alaska, Minnesota, and, and Montana State. He develops and teaches doctoral mentoring courses in for the University of Phoenix, where he served as Senior Research Fellow and University Research Chair, and Walden University, where he is senior faculty mentor. He holds a doctorate in strategic management from the University of Oregon, and MBA from the University of Utah. Jim's writing and research have been recognized by professional and academic peers. Author of many published works in the areas of strategic management, organizational change, and health management and policy, he has given well over 100 presentations in business and academic venues. His research has been published in journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Studies, Journal of Healthcare Management, and Health Services Research, among others. He is coauthor of Dissertation and Scholarly Research: Recipes for Success, a bestselling guide to dissertation research and writing. He also serves as Series Editor of Advances in Health Care Management, a leading journal in the field. Jim received the A.T. Kearney Prize for outstanding research in strategic management, and two research awards from the American College of Healthcare Executives for his research and writing in healthcare management. He was founding editor of the Journal of Social Change. Jim also served as a Fulbright Fellow at the University of Pune, India, in spring of 2013.
