Jennifer L. James, MA, PhD

Jennifer James is an English faculty member with Ashford University, the University of Phoenix, and Grand Canyon University. She teaches developmental, introductory, and advanced writing levels. She also teaches an Introductory to Film course. She received her BA in Psychology and MA in English from the University of Arizona at 25 years of age. As an English professor, she has served as a certified journal reviewer, served on the university’s writing products advisory board, spoken at numerous academic conferences, designed curriculum maps for grades 9-12, assessed writing placement exams, and has been a Subject Matter Expert and mentor to new faculty. She has recently completed her doctoral research, which involved a quantitative correlational study on adult learners in online academic programs. Her interests are on how students' expectations correlate with their academic persistence in online programs.
