Janice Cardwell, PhD, MBA

Dr. Janice (Jan) Lewis Cardwell holds a PhD is in Education from Capella University and an MBA from University of Phoenix. She has 30+ years in adult learning, workforce development, higher education, corporate training, management and leadership development. Dr. Jan is currently Campus VP/ Academic Director for University of Phoenix (UOPX)-Detroit). She is on the UOPX National Diversity Council, the UOPX Women’s Employee Resource Group (ERG) and the UOPX African American ERG Steering Committee. Dr. Cardwell is Board Chairwoman of Matrix Human Services in Southeast Michigan. She is a board member for Southfield MI Chamber of Commerce, National Entrepreneur Association, and Southfield Lathrup Optimist Club and a founding member of the Southfield Area Rotary Club. She has presented at several conferences nationally and internationally. She has served as a Senior Research Fellow (2018) for the Center for Organizational Research and Research Fellow (2016-2017) for the Center for Leadership Studies and Education Research. Other research/scholarship projects include: Dissertation to Publication (Fall 2018); Research: Detroit Community of Scholars Action Research; Research: Impact of Entrepreneur Workshops on New Entrepreneur’s Business Launch: A Narrative Inquiry; and Creating a Culture of Intellectual Inquiry: A Systematic Literature Review. She is a member of the Association of Leadership Educators and the International Leadership Association. Serving as 2019 Chair of the International Leadership Association Leadership Development Member Interest Group and Chair of the Association of Leadership Educators Executive Coaching Focus Area Network. Dr. Jan is also CEO, Founding Partner, and Executive Coach for Conceivers LLC. She is a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
