James Ziegler, PhD
Dr. James G. Ziegler, PhD has a rather diverse professional background with 27 years of operations, project/program, and training management experience -- including 6 years as an officer in the United States Air Force and 21 years in the business world. He is currently an entrepreneur who owns his own business with his wife that focuses on products for teachers, and writing and publishing on topics in a number of different areas to include children’s stories, travel, and freelance writing. Previously, he served as a Project Manager for a global Bioscience Fortune 200 company. He also served as a certified Lean Instructor and a Six Sigma Green Belt. Projects he led are estimated to have saved that company $1,100,000 - $2,000,000 annually. Dr. Ziegler completed his doctorate in Change Management in 2007. He also has a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management and has had seven papers published on a number of different topics related to Change Management, and his most recent publication having to do with putting together strong learning teams in an online classroom environment. He was also part of a research team that presented at 2 IBAM conferences (2013 & 2014). Current research interest are more along the lines of entrepreneurship, the publishing industry (including changes in self-publishing), and just about any type of management topic. Preferred research methodology is qualitative. Dr. Ziegler has been a faculty member with the University of Phoenix for 13 years now, including the last 8 years with the School of Advanced Studies. He grew up in Wisconsin, but today lives in Littleton, Colorado with his wonderful wife of 24 years, their son they adopted from Ethiopia in 2008, and a rescued beagle.
