Ina Marie Peoples, PhD

Dr. Marie Peoples serves as the Deputy County Manager for Coconino County, Arizona, and is responsible for oversight of departments that interface with criminal justice and human services, to include the departments of Juvenile Services, Adult Probation, Public Defender, Legal Defender, Health, Community Services, and the Career Center. Additionally, responsible for serving as a liaison with the Courts, Sheriff’s Department, federal and local Tribal Representatives, Elected Officials, and other Dignitaries. A primary component of all efforts includes working with diverse populations, understanding effective use of resources within the justice system, including fair justice reform and evidence based practices, Title 36, and collective impact initiatives. Dr. Peoples has also worked within Corrections, Courts, Mental Health, and Public Health fields. Public Health, particularly eliminating health disparities between populations, has been a focus of her career. Dr. Peoples holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration, a Masters Degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice, a Masters Degree in Public Health, and a PhD in Public Health Epidemiology.
