Heather W. Allen, PhD

Dr. Heather W. Allen, founder and president of SADI Solutions, LLC (formally Heather Allen & Associates, Inc.), has over 30 years of extensive experience in the design, development, analysis, evaluation, and optimization of a wide range of systems. Her experience includes applied research and development as well as years of practical experience making systems efficient, effective, and usable. She has also developed data analysis methodologies used to analyze qualitative data ranging from corporate strategic planning efforts, to the Federal Aviation Administration’s inspector work processes, to various business and organization surveys of their personnel and customers. Dr. Allen is respected by her peers as an expert in human factors engineering and has received numerous Awards for Excellence for her work in providing efficient, effective, and practical solutions to her customers. Dr. Allen holds a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Georgia. Following three years as an Engineering Psychologist with the U.S. Navy, she spent 11 years at Sandia National Laboratories, the last 6 of which she held the designation of Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff. In 1998, Dr. Allen left Sandia National Laboratories and founded Heather Allen & Associates, Inc. Since then she has performed work for the Federal Aviation Administration, Palm Inc., Sandia National Laboratories, The Old Schoolhouse Magazine, AfterMath, Inc., and the Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
