Gail Williams, PhD

Gail B. Williams, PhD., RN is Clinical Professor in the School of Nursing at UT Health San Antonio (The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio). For more than 20 years, Dr. Williams has taught in baccalaureate, masters and doctoral programs in nursing. Dr. Williams is an advanced practice nurse who has over 20 years’ experience as a clinical nurse specialist in psychiatric mental health nursing. She has a faculty practice in the delivery of behavioral health in primary care and holds a cross appointment to the Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. In 2014 Dr. Williams joined the University of Phoenix School of Advanced Studies where she serves on doctoral dissertation committees. Dr. Williams earned her doctoral degree from New York University and has had funded research in prevention of intimate partner violence and promotion of healthy families. In the area of educational research Dr. Williams has conducted research on reflective journaling. Dr. Williams has taught RES/711 Fundamental Principles of Sound Research and DOC/740R Annual Renewal Residency. She has expertise in quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods research.
