Edward Wirth, PhD

Bio for UOPX Marketing is my passion, both academically and professionally. I am a creative and results driven individual, experienced in strategic business analysis and implementation, based on rich academic training, course development, and course delivery. Major disciplines include Change Management and Marketing, supported by Accounting and Engineering. My professional career includes 30 years with AT&T/Lucent Technologies, turnaround evaluations (based on my core competence of corporate proctology), and association with 3 high-tech startups, as VP – Business Development, Marketing, and Sales; CEO, and Marketing and Sales Director. Since 1995, I have been President of EDW Consulting, Inc. ( Through my Consulting company, I provide leadership or consulting support in the following areas: Change management – implementation of CRM, reengineering, and acquisitions Merger and acquisition studies, valuations, and negotiations Strategic planning in a start-up environment, especially environmental assessment, strategic market planning, competitive analysis, and marketing implementation Turnaround management, asset utilization, capital budgeting Leadership of Sales, Marketing, and Business Development functions Preparation of prospectus for raising venture capital, IPO or strategic alliance Regulatory matters: rate making, testimony development, transfer pricing Currently, I am the Director of Business Development, Marketing and Sales for Power Service Concepts. ( I am also VP and Chief Marketing Officer for e-northamerica, Inc. ( For the University of Phoenix, I work within the College of Business, providing course delivery for most of the Marketing courses, both online and formerly in the classroom. I also have taught several Communications courses online in the College of Humanities and Sciences. In my spare time, I enjoy golf, boating, and travel. I especially enjoy our 6 children, 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, so life is good. If I knew that grandchildren were so much fun, I’d have had them first.
