Dr. Crystal J. Davis is a leadership consultant, author, blogger, and researcher. Dr. Crystal is CEO of CJD Consulting Solutions, LLC, a firm that assists organizations and leaders improve business results by empowering authentic conversations encouraging members at all levels of the organization to build trust, awareness, and meaningful contribution.
Dr. Crystal completed her Bachelors of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communications with a minor in German from Kansas State University, Master’s in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma with a minor in Women’s Studies (summa cum laude), and graduated magna cum laude with a Doctorate in Management specializing in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix.
Dr. Davis is passionately engaged in Servant-Leadership with the not-for-profit and public sectors having served both large and small organizations. Dr. Crystal works with not-for-profit organizations to establish their 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and to develop their Board of Directors. She also assists organizations to become prepared for, research, and apply for federal grant funding. Since 2004, Dr. Crystal has presented workshops, presentations, and consultations focusing primarily on management and leadership consulting, federal grant writing, community outreach and engagement, and servant leadership principles.
Dr. Davis coaches doctoral learners pursuing degrees in Organizational Leadership through her firm and the Dissertation Coaching and Consulting Consortium, a group of five experienced doctors in the areas of quantitative and qualitative research methods, QRM and QRF, statistics, editing, oral defense, and dissertation publishing. She is also a member Dissertation ECollaborative which assists doctoral learners through the dissertation process. She has authored three books, Leading from Within: The Spirituality of Servant Leadership, (2015) Servant Leadership and Followership: Examining the Impact on Workplace Behavior (2017), and Bloom Where You Are Planted: Reflections on Servant Leadership (2018). She is currently in publication on her journal article, Growing Up in the Black Church: The Making of a Servant Leader.
Dr. Crystal’s research interests are in the areas of servant leadership, organizational development consultation and organizational culture, diversity in management, evaluation, and strategic planning. Dr. Crystal serves as a grant reviewer on the Board of Directors for the Kansas Statewide Homeless Coalition to provide education and support in an effort to end homelessness in Kansas. She is also the Publicist/Fundraiser for the Junction City Juneteenth Community Association.
