I have been teaching with the University of Phoenix for 13 years and have been teaching at the university level for 17 years. I have taught at several schools in the Inland Empire (California) and I am currently teaching at University of Phoenix (on-ground/on-line), and University of California, Riverside, Extension. I teach courses in Case Management, Financial Social Programs, Aging and Mental Health, Mandated Reporting, Boundaries in Relationships, Clinical Psychology, Career Success, Critical Thinking, Introduction to Psychology, Personality, Motivation and Learning, MFT courses, research and a variety of other human services related courses.
I currently am working at Barstow Community College as a Professor/Mental Health Counselor. My work has consisted of several challenging positions such as working with sexually exploited youth, Probation involved youth, youth with severe mental and emotional disturbances, youth aging out of the foster care system, in social programs, being a consultant, working with HIV infected/affected individuals, and working with individuals on parole and individuals who are incarcerated. I have worked for CAMFT (California Association for Marriage and Family Therapists) on their CEPA and Auditing Committees as an appointee. I also do clinical private practice. I am also a Fellow in Residence at the University of Phoenix, Center for Workplace Diversity and Inclusion Research.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I currently have 5 degrees which include: an AA in Liberal Arts, BA in Psychology, MS, Counseling Psychology, MS in Public Administration and Social Change, and EdD. Educational Leadership, Higher Education. I also am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with a specialization in trauma.
