Catherine Burr

My name is Dr. Catherine Burr and, as the Director of Academic Affairs for the University of Phoenix, Charlotte Campus and Learning Centers, I am very excited to be working with you. My focus is to help provide a terrific student experience and help lead our campus to be a model campus for University of Phoenix My professional experience is in the education and pharmaceutical arenas holding positions from sales representative to sales management to corporate training & development. In addition, I have experience consulting in HR and working with companies in need of training initiatives based on corporate needs and goals. In March, 2010 I successfully defended my doctoral dissertation. The dissertation is titled: The Mentoring Experiences of Executive Pharmaceutical Women: A Phenomenological Study. It is exciting to have attained this level of education. In addition my masters isin Educational Leadership at Western Michigan University. While teaching Marketing and Management at Davenport University, I was also consulting at the College of Aviation at WMU on a resume building and interviewing skills program for their senior flight and airport management students. This led me to developing the seminar into a book. As of May, 2008, she has two books published. In October 2014 I was delighted to be selected to present at the Region 3 ACBSP Conference in Greensboro, NC. The topic of the presentation was: Data to support mentoring for student success encased in advancement to leadership positions. When not working or volunteering or visiting family, I enjoy playing flute and piccolo. My goal is to help students on their educational journey.
