Brian Polding, Ph.D.

Dr. Brian Polding has served as Campus College Chair for the School of Business at the University of Phoenix, North Florida Campus for the last 14 years. He also supervises the College of Information Systems and Technology. In the past he has supervised the College of Nursing, College of Education and College of Health and Human Services and served as Acting Director of Academic Affairs. He is a faculty member and serves on dissertation committees for the University of Phoenix School for Advanced Studies. He earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership (Higher Education) and an MA in Philosophy (with an emphasis in applied ethics and philosophy of law) from the University of Florida and an MA in Student Personnel Counseling and a BA in Philosophy and Economics (cum laude) from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. He has served as a Senior Consultant for Strategy Navigators Inc., a Jacksonville based consulting firm. Prior to coming to the University of Phoenix, he served as Organization Development Manager at the Convergys Corporation in Jacksonville, FL where he was responsible for creating and delivering management training programs, system redesign and internal consulting. Previous professional experience includes serving as: Director of Adult Degree Programs at Jacksonville University, Director of Judicial Affairs at the University of South Carolina, Assistant Dean of Students at the University of New Mexico, Judicial Affairs Coordinator, Assistant Director of the Leadership Resource Center and Research Associate for the Institute of Higher Education at the University of Florida, and as Director of Public Relations at a non-profit agency. He has taught at the University of Florida and University of New Mexico and has served as a Visiting Scholar on dissertation committees for Nova Southeastern and Capella Universities. He is a Supreme Court certified mediator for the Florida Family Courts. He currently serves as Director of Education and Board Member for the Alliance for the Lost Boys of Sudan ( He was recognized by the President's Commission on Community Service in February 2013. In 2012 Dr. Polding received an outstanding graduate award from the University of Florida, College of Education "in recognition of distinguished service to higher education". Dr. Polding serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Leadership Education, the Research Committee of the Association for Student Conduct Administration, and the program committee for the American Society for Training and Development NE Florida Chapter.
