Betty Jones, Ed.D.

Dr. Betty Jones received a BA in Social Welfare from the University of California, Chico, and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Jones earned the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) with a focus in Organization and Leadership from the University of San Francisco. She also earned a minor in International and Multicultural Education. She completed her dissertation, a qualitative, ethnographic study of the higher education governing policy in South Africa, in 1997. Since then Dr. Jones has assisted many learners through the dissertation process and taught university doctoral dissertation classes as well as graduate level counselor education, psychology, and business courses. For over 20 years Dr. Jones worked in public education as a school counselor, primarily at the secondary level. For three and a half of those years she served as Head Counselor and Administrator. She resigned from public education in 2004 to devote her time to university teaching. Dr. Jones has been a presenter at the annual conference of a national education organization; was a member of the board of directors and was elected as Chair of the Higher Education Commission of the organization where she served four years, 2010-2014. Recently, June, 2018, Dr. Jones presented at another international organization's conference. Her paper was published in the organization's official publication of conference proceedings of abstracts and selected papers.
