Academic Background: Doctor of Education (EdD) University of San Diego Major: Leadership Minor: Nursing Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) University of San Diego Major: Family Health Nursing Minor: Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Point Loma University Research Experience: I have taught research for many years beginning at California State University at the baccalaureate level for 14 years and at the University of Phoenix for the past 16 years at the master and doctoral levels. I have also presented multiple poster and podium presentations sponsored by Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, and am a current peer reviewer for its professional research journal for over ten years. The most recent research study published, Nursing the Spirit, was awarded the 2011 University of Phoenix, School of Advanced Studies, Publishing Award. Teaching Experience: My teaching expertise is in the disciplines of research, curriculum, ethics, management, leadership, and the clinical specialty of intravenous therapy with peer-reviewed publications in these fields. Affiliation with the University of Phoenix began in 1996 teaching On-Ground, Directed Study, and Online courses in the graduate and doctoral programs, and chairing doctoral student dissertation committees. Clinical Experience: I have been clinically employed for the past 29 years as a nursing supervisor and Director of Staff Development in a southern California hospital system. Six years ago, our hospital system received the first system-wide Magnet status recognition in the nation consisting of four campuses comprised of two acute and two skilled nursing facilities.
