The Use of Differentiation to Enhance Learning Outcomes for Traditional and ELL Students

Community college students have various learning levels, styles, and needs. Writing an essay is one way to assess learning. The learning objectives of this workshop are to understand the importance of differentiation and how to provide options for student assessments beyond a basic essay. The facilitator will demonstrate how to change an assessment of a basic essay to various methods per Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence theory. Differentiation will also include methods to support English Language learners (ELL).
