Narrative Inquiry

Using Story-Telling, Role Play, and Video Therapy as Learning Strategies with Incarcerated Females

Project Description:

The purpose of the proposed qualitative narrative analysis is to provide counselors for incarcerated women with exploratory, narrative insights from other counselors as to how movies or film stories can provide therapeutic support for incarcerated women.  Storytelling has been used previously for therapeutic purposes (Miller, 2015), however, less is known about using film or movies for therapeutic purposes with this population.   The narrative analysis research design will allow researchers to gather first hand accounts of the research experiences of interest.
