Comparative Study of Attrition and Training Costs in County Jails

When employees feel under-rewarded, they seek equity with the higher paid employees by adjusting their own behaviors. Common responses are absenteeism, lateness, longer and undocumented breaks, decreased productivity, stress, and resentment.   The presentation focused on training and the lack of training across jails in the United States and the need for changes to seek the equity within the organization which was studied. The study also presented findings on attrition rates and training costs and evaluation and reasoning of behaviors and the need to change.
