Utilizing SoE leadership, manager of accreditation, faculty, and a graduate student in a collaborative effort to modify an online course for programmatic improvement

Abstract:

Participants will gain insight to a cross collaborative effort to improve an online course. This best practice revised an outdated course utilizing content area expertise. This process included online faculty, a graduate student, the manager of accreditation, and the dean of the school of education. The student was enrolled in the final course in their graduate program. This course was in need of updating to align content to current technology standards. The student and faculty utilized their content area lens to provide critical feedback for course enhancements. The SoE supported this process in an effort to solicit faculty and student involvement in the course revision process as supported by our regional accreditor.
