Abstract:

One of the biggest dilemmas facing modern society consists of the emerging trend concerning a lack of ethical leadership in companies, governmental organizations, and other entities as indicated by the increase in unethical leadership practices. Against the backdrop of revealing statistics and literature to help focus on the topic, the introduction to the Symposium “Achieving Ethical Leadership,” provides a brief overview regarding the need for ethical leadership in today’s dynamic global environment. This overview then introduces the work of 10 contributors and their articles that provide different perspectives on this complex and important issue for the benefit of researchers, scholars, and leaders seeking ways to achieve ethical leadership within modern organizations.
