Abstract:
Privacy is defined as the state or condition of being free from being observed, or disturbed by other people. By extension, digital privacy can best be described as the protection of the information of private citizens who use digital mediums relative to the internet. Digital privacy centers on the fact that using digital mediums to conduct affairs, whether personal or professional, leaves archived digital footprints. However, an actual definitive definition of digital privacy remains illusive and thus prevents its resolution . To better understand the nature of digital privacy, the philosophical antecedents of privacy itself are explored within the context of this paper.
