How many times have you heard the word "alignment" in the doctoral dissertation process?
It is critical for the dissertation to be aligned in order to have a solid foundation for your study, to create connections between and among all components, e.g. problem, purpose, research questions, and theory, and to ensure flow and foundational connectivity of your topic.
I would like to ask you to participate in a discussion on this topic of alignment and/or to ask your questions that I and others might be able to help you with as you think comprehensively about writing or reviewing dissertations. If you have time, you might enjoy reading a piece I wrote a couple of years ago now about alignment where I offer examples of how to do this with theory, problem, purpose, research questions (and hypotheses if a quantitative study). Look for this piece under Resources in this site. Thank you and I look forward to chatting with you.
