The proposal is to outline the existing structure and organizational efforts to support economic development and specifically to improve workforce skills in Florida and more directly in Tampa.
In recent years as the global economy recovers from the Great Recession, more and more companies seek to have the uniqueness of product development and subsequent growth that Apple, HP, Google and others embody. The legendary successes of these Design Driven companies demonstrate that their products can replace the outdated products, expand existing markets, and create new opportunities for growth.
As the world continues to develop, the demand for an educated workforce continues to grow to fulfill the needs of business and society. Never before have there been as many educational institutions of higher education as there are today. These institutions offer diplomas, degrees, and continuing education, all responding to the needs of the geographic area, the demands of the students and parents, the expectations of the discipline, and integrating the mission of the financial backers.
Recent changes in healthcare regulations and the increased availability of health insurance to millions of previously uninsured has created an unprecedented opportunity to provide healthcare outside of the traditional healthcare system such as by nurse practitioners (NPs) in convenient care clinics (CCCs).This study surveyed 59 NPs who practiced at CCCs to explore the impact of their practice. The findings demonstrated that accessibility, convenience, affordability, quality patient care, and treating patient problems were the most impacts.
The relationship between entrepreneurship and well-being at the individual level is not the same as the relationship between the two at the country level. This paper argues that external intangible macro-environment stimuli (happiness, humanity efforts, healthiness) at the country level are as relevant to the study of entrepreneurial activities as the tangible macro-environmental factors or internal cognitive reasons for these activities.
Threats of depopulation and tremendous immigration to the country create unique geopolitical challenge to Russia and its government. To the East it borders with China, the world most populous country and steadily growing second largest economy in the world. To the West, expansion of European Union and NATO encroaching to the very Russian borders considered a direct threat to the country economic and national security. First in Georgia in 2008, later in Ukraine in 2014 Russia feels threatened by what it sees as Western expansion to its sphere of direct interests.
The primary objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between the use of social media and small business success. A survey will be sent to 500 small business owners. Data will be gathered from this self-monitored questionnaire. Multiple regression analysis will be used to test the relationship between the use of social media and the business success.
The project leader for this research project is Dr. Laura-Ann Migliore, Ph.D. She is a dissertation chair at UOPX and is the first 2014 Research Fellow at CME. The research proposal is attached and provides more details of the project.
