The upcoming 9th Annual Convention of The Qualitative Report is being held in Ft. Lauderdale in January with the theme "The Phenomenology of Qualitative Research".  I understand there will be a fair number of us from UOPX presenting.

Among the many attractions at the conference is a pre-conference workshop (included in the conference registration fee) by Professor Jonathan A. Smith,Birbeck University of London, UK entitled: "An Introduction to Doing Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA)".  I've had several mentees use Smith's work very fruitfully.

Those doing phenomenological work and living anywhere near Ft. Lauderdale or wanting to justify heading there in January might find this a great opportunity!

As you note, Lynne, this is an excellent conference.  The registration fee is relatively low, and the conferences offers many opportunities for learning, collaboration, and socialization.  I look forward to seeing you and many of our colleagues there!
