CWDR at 2015 ACBSP Region 3 Conference

Ms. Susanne Ohihoin (learner, I/O Psy PhD) and Dr. Carlos Aquino (CWDR Center Chair) presented "Global E-Mentoring: Cultural Awareness in Multicultural E-Mentoring Relationships" at the 2015 Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Region 3 Conference at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on October 2, 2015.

Dr. Aquino introduced the Center for Workplace Diversity Research to the attendees and stressed the relevance of the presentation topic for the success of organizations and business professionals. Ms. Ohihoin then talked about Global E-Mentoring, reinforcing points such as potential influences of multicultural experiences to reduce cultural misunderstanding for successful global e-mentoring interventions and improve business competitiveness and relevance. She also identified gaps in the existing research, encouraging new research such as hers, and strengthened the network of mentoring researchers.

The audience reacted in a very positive way to the ideas being shared and the presentation was highly evaluated by the attendees. In a later conversation, Dr. Jeff Alderman (ACBSP's CEO) and Dr. Steven Parscale (Chief Accreditation Officer of ACBSP and member of CWDR's Advising Committee) stated the interest of ACBSP to work together with the researcher, providing her with potential organizations to be surveyed.

It is important to notice that Ms. Ohihoin is a year 1 student in the I/O Psychology PhD program, under the leadership of Dr. Kelley Conrad, and this is the topic she will be workin on her dissertation.
