Fellow Dr. Lynne Devnew Set to Present Paper on Europe and U.S. Women's Corporate Board Roles

The theme for the 75th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management being held in Vancouver, British Columbia this August is Opening Governance.

One of the proposals selected for All Theme Day, Sunday, August 9, was submitted by CLSER research associate Lynne Devnew and a powerful team of researchers from throughout the world.  Their panel/symposium is titled Women’s Roles in Decision Making on Corporate Boards of Directors:  European and United States perspectives. The panel discussion will be moderated by Michael Useem, Director of the Center for Leadership and Change Management at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and co-author of Boards that Lead (Harvard Business Review Press, 2014).

Researchers will include Morten Huse from Norway; Susan Vinnicombe from the UK; and Anne Benning, Lynne, and Monigo Saygsbay-Hallie, a PhD student at the University of Phoenix, from the US.  This panel discussion will address recent research being done in the three countries to better understand the role women who serve on boards play in corporate board decision making.
