Sustaining Online Education for the 22nd Century

Abstract:

Online instruction has forever changed the field of education. No longer are we bound by four walls of the traditional classroom environment but rather the world is now our classroom. As we continue to move forward in the 21st century there will be opportunities for further growth and development of online instruction. All educators would benefit from embracing and exploring the endless possibilities that online instruction has to offer regardless of their current instructional modality. The intent of this brief paper is to discuss ways in which steps can be taken to ensure that online education will continue to thrive and evolve as we approach the 22nd century.
