Parity Issues and Attrition: The Study

Abstract:

In April 2014, the College of Criminal Justice & Security at the University of Phoenix began a study of parity issues and attrition in jails.  This is an open and continuous study that examines attrition in city, county, and regional jails and jails administered by the State/county department of corrections.  Previous attrition studies focused on individual and organizational characteristics. However, the University of Phoenix study focuses on the internal and external economic factors that may impact the attrition rate. The following discusses the rationale and importance of the survey questions used in the study.
