The 2021 Research Summit begins today, Thursday August 12th at 10:00 am MST time. With close to 400 registrants, the event demonstrates the potentials of research in a conference style format with over 50+ professional researchers presenting, Dissertation of the Year, Doctoral student presenters, panel sessions and more!!
Day 1 began with opening comments from host Dr. Shawn Todd-Boone and Vice Provost Hinrich Eylers as they helped shape the philosophy behind the event and the theme this year called "Nexus of Change."
The first day also opened with a compelling panel discussion on a JLS Symposium project that was published in May 2021 by the Journal of Leadership Studies covering several aspects from diversity to leadership. With emergence in 2021 through current day of social phenomena arising and attenuation to social inequites, the panel offered up commentary from all contributors and was moderated by lead chair for the project Dr. Kimberly Underwood. This was one of the largest panel discussions attended in KWB Summit history.
Sessions began shortly therafter that were as diverse and interesting with a variety of topics including a Special Session where Dr. Mansureh Kebritchi led a discussion on the reseaerch methodology group and the usefulness of resourcing within.
Using Zoom for the first time was also a great experience, where most of the conference breakout sessions were seamlessly conducted with minimal to no interruptions.
We are looking forward to Day 2!
