College of Business Faculty Feature: Dr. Anthony J. Matias, DBA, MBA, CPA

As a consultant, he provides clients with management support in the areas of financial and accounting information systems, project management, strategic planning, and management.  Efforts have included both large- and medium-sized organizations, including Zurich Insurance GE Capital and the US Navy.

He is a featured speaker at seminars throughout the US and Canada, presenting topics in financial analysis, risk management and financial systems.  Recent presentations have been made at GE Capital, Johnson & Johnson, and public seminars in Boston, and Orlando.

He served on the full time faculties at the schools of management at Suffolk University, Merrimack College and Palm Beach Atlantic University, where he also served as Chair of the department of Applied Finance and Accounting.

He has published four books and many articles.  The books include:

  • Principles of Accounting and Finance (American Management Association - Education for Management NY, NY)
  • Intermediate Finance and Accounting (AMA, NY, NY)
  • Real Estate Investment Analysis (Vector Publishing, Harvard, MA)

He has also published the following 3 E-books as Reference Guides which are based on the needs of managers to utilize some important management tools.  The approach is hands on with each volume including realistic case activities.  In addition, each of the volumes is supported by a web site which includes case solutions and additional learning materials.

Dr. Matias earned his BA at Immaculate Conception College, an MBA from Boston College, and a Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University with concentrations in Management and Accounting.
