Technology remains at the center of Distance Education. Educational Technology is the leading teaching tool in all of our classrooms that allows us to reach and teach students with digital learning. Technology also keeps us organized and productive. The problem is how to navigate the ever-increasing number of technology tools, web sites, apps, and presentation tools out there to stay on top of technology. If you’ve ever felt lost in the tech world or not up to speed with what your tech savvy colleagues seem to do with ease, then this workshop is for you. The presenter is a Blackboard Certified Trainer and UBtech (University Business, formerly EduComm) Fellow who will take you through the best technology practices out there today. The session will provide you the latest list of technology tools for teaching as well as step-by-step guides of best practices aimed at educators to allow them to become more tech savvy in the classroom and meeting room. Topics will include the new Google Slides Q&A feature, Office Lens, and numerous tools like Pixlr, Free Foto, gamification, no tracking search engines and more. If you are an expert in the use of technology for education, join your colleagues for an open discussion of what works and what doesn’t in the classroom for you. The goal of this workshop is to enhance our teaching technology skills to benefit our students and make technology meaningful and productive in our teaching and professional lives.
